# Run Voice Check-Ins After Discharge with Post-Care Follow-up

> Use Post-Care Follow-up to simulate or run voice check-in calls after discharge, score recovery risk, and flag patients who need nurse escalation.

The Post-Care Voice Follow-up module (Module 3) runs voice check-ins with patients after discharge and highlights possible escalation signals for a nurse or doctor. The demo focuses on Case 2: Lemlem, Day 3 after an appendectomy, speaking Amharic-English.

## Simulate a follow-up call

<Steps>
  <Step title="Pick a scenario">
    In the **Outpatient Call Simulator**, select **Simulate: Case 2 Stable Follow-up** or **Simulate: Case 2 Maternal Post-Op Review**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Follow the transcript">
    The **Outbound Voice Interaction Transcript** shows the conversation. **Parsed Status** updates in real time.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Act on escalations">
    Flagged patients appear in the **Escalation Queue**. Select **Dispatch Nurse Alert** to notify a nurse.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## Analyze a transcript

The **Live Post-Care Protocol Analyzer** runs the clinical team's post-care protocol on transcript text.

1. Choose a **Care track**: **General** or **Maternal (Annex 1-3 acuity scale)**.
2. Select **Analyze**.

You get a recovery risk score. Maternal patients also get a level on the 5-level obstetric acuity scale.

## Run a real follow-up call

**Start Real Follow-up Call** runs a live call loop with no LLM involved:

1. Intron speaks each question aloud.
2. Select **Record Answer** and answer by microphone.
3. Intron transcribes the answer, and the protocol engine picks the next question, or escalates immediately if it hears an emergency.

<Warning>
  Results come from reported symptoms only. A nurse or doctor must confirm with real vitals and an exam. The module does not contact patients autonomously or dispatch care.
</Warning>
